Assignment 1: Practicum Proposal

The purpose of this assignment is to provide you the opportunity to consider your current knowledge and skills related to Motivational Interviewing (MI) and to evaluate those to identify gaps in your current abilities that may impede your progress in achieving psychotherapy competencies.  

All writing assignments are expected to follow the Journal of the American Medical Association Manual of Style (JAMA). The updated reference manual is located here: https://www.jamamanualofstyle.com/ (Links to an external site.)

The paper’s length should be a minimum of 3 pages, but no longer than 5 pages (not including the title page, references, or any appendices). You should include the following elements:

  1. A discussion of the collective results obtained from the scoring of your Theravue video responses to the various patient scenarios that targeted the following psychotherapy competencies:
